• Reduce the risk of lung cancer with vitamin b6

Lung cancer is a disease that can be life-threatening and include the most common cancer that affects the entire world. Apparently Individuals with high levels of vitamin B has the possibility of lung cancer two-fold lower than others. Although a significant reduction, but that does not mean smokers were asked to consume more vitamins than quitting smoking. Avoid smoking and exposure to carcinogenic substances is wise action to prevent lung cancer.

Research in France with funds from the World Cancer Research Fund and the European Commission. This study found that concentrations of vitamin B6 in their blood had a 50% less in the development of lung cancer. Almost similar to the 48% who consume methionine, amino acids, compared with other concentrations. A recent study suggests that certain types of diets that contain vitamin B can help prevent lung cancer. The study is based on the fact that Vitamin B sisntesis regulate gene function and maintain the integrity of DNA in the cell body.
Typically, about 15% of smokers will develop lung cancer. "But at least 1% of non-smokers are also affected by the disease, said Brennan. Either methionine or vitamin B6 is essential for health and already may be consumed in supplement form. Vitamin B6 can help keep the body from disease and process glucose in the body. This vitamin can be found in bananas, fish, chicken, potatoes, peanut butter and cereals are rich in these vitamins. Methionine can be found in foods like red meat, fish and nuts. Methionine-deficient individuals may suffer from some diseases, such as liver damage. Any disruption in the gene's function can invite carcinogenesis (cancer development process).

The study included 519 978 participants are asked to fill out a standardized questionnaire with questions about their diet. Of this total, 385 747 participants provided blood samples.Participants were divided into two groups: The case: people with lung cancer and control: who does not have cancer. The researchers measured the vitamin B content of various vitamins, including B2, B6, B9, and B12, in a blood sample and a chemical called cotinine (an indicator of the intensity of smoking). In the first group (cases) there are levels of vitamin B in the same blood between former smokers and never-smokers. But this B vitamin levels were lower in active smokers.Blood of smokers also had higher levels of vitamins B6, B9 and B12 are lower than non-smokers.Of the study observed a decrease in lung cancer risk with increasing vitamin B6 and methionine in the blood. The researchers concluded vitamin B6 and methionine can reduce the risk of lung cancer by about 50%.
